With this privacy policy we want to inform you which types of your personal data (hereinafter also “data”) we process for which purposes and to what extent. The policy applies to all processing of personal data in connection with our websites and web apps.
Below we state the legal bases of the GDPR on which we process personal data:
In accordance with legal requirements and taking into account the state of the art, we implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of protection appropriate to the risk.
SSL encryption (HTTPS): All connections to our websites and web apps are secured by TLS encryption. You can recognise this by the prefix https:// in your browser’s address bar.
We process two categories of data:
When our websites are accessed, the hosting provider Vercel collects technically necessary access data: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referrer URL, user agent (browser type + version, operating system). This data serves exclusively to provide the online offering securely and efficiently and to defend against attacks (e.g. DDoS).
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable, secure operation).
See section 7 below.
What we do not process: We do not create personal usage profiles. There is no account, no registration, no login. We do not use cookies or marketing/tracking pixels.
The website and the associated web apps are delivered via Vercel Inc. (340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA). When a page is accessed, Vercel processes the server log files listed in section 5.1.
A data processing agreement (DPA) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Vercel. As Vercel also operates servers outside the EU, transfers to the USA may occur — safeguarded by EU standard contractual clauses (SCCs). Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
Vercel’s privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
For statistical evaluation of page views we use Vercel Analytics (provider see section 6). Only aggregated, anonymous metrics are recorded: number of page views, approximate region (country, possibly city), browser type, operating system and referrer.
Vercel Analytics works without cookies and without persistent identifiers. No user-related profile is created and no IP address is stored permanently; only a transient hash value is used per day, which is discarded after 24 hours at the latest. Source: Vercel documentation.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in optimising the offering). The processing is covered by the DPA mentioned in section 6; SCCs apply accordingly.
This website and the web apps use the fonts DM Serif Display, DM Mono and Instrument Sans. They are provided via Bunny Fonts (BunnyWay d.o.o., Slovenia, EU) — a GDPR-compliant replacement for Google Fonts which, according to the provider, does not store IP addresses and does not create profiles.
When a page is accessed, your IP address is technically transmitted to Bunny Fonts so that the fonts can be delivered — according to the provider, no storage or evaluation takes place.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a consistent presentation). Privacy information: bunny.net/privacy.
Our web apps use your browser’s localStorage function exclusively for UI settings that should persist between visits:
This data does not leave your browser, is not transmitted to us and contains no personal information. You can delete it at any time via your browser’s developer tools.
On the moduscycler.com website and in the ModusCycler app, the Modes Explorer is embedded as an iframe — a standalone tool without third-party bindings that runs entirely in the user’s browser. Only the current language is exchanged between the apps via postMessage; no personal data is transmitted.
The Modes Explorer also sets no cookies and uses only the browser storage mechanisms described in section 9.
On our pages we link to external offerings (e.g. berndkiltz.com, Vercel, Bunny Fonts). When you click such links you leave our pages; the privacy policies of the respective providers then apply.
Where we process data in a third country (outside the EU/EEA) or have it processed there, this is done only in accordance with legal requirements (Art. 44–49 GDPR). In particular in the case of Vercel (USA), the transfer takes place on the basis of appropriate safeguards (EU standard contractual clauses; supplementary technical security measures).
