They serve to get to know the apps and the musical concepts (modes, church scales, approaches to improvisation). The full range of functions is reserved for the paid apps for iOS and Android.
Using the web versions does not create a contract between you and the provider. No sign-up, no account and no payment is required.
Compared with the app versions, the web versions offer reduced functionality. For example, chord progression length, print/PDF export and saving functions may be limited in the web version. The current feature set is shown in the respective web app; the provider reserves the right to adjust the scope at any time.
You may use the web versions freely for private and non-commercial purposes, in particular for learning and for your own musical work. The following is prohibited:
The provider aims for the highest possible availability but does not owe any particular availability or accessibility. Maintenance, updates or technical faults may temporarily make the web versions unavailable. As use is free of charge, there is no claim to a refund or damages.
All content — explanations of modes, scales, chord progressions and musical concepts — has been created to the best of our knowledge, but replaces neither lessons nor a complete music theory education. Recommendations of books, methods or artists are the provider’s personal selection.
As the web versions are provided free of charge, the provider is liable only for intent and gross negligence as well as for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence the provider is liable only in the event of a breach of a material contractual obligation (cardinal obligation); in that case liability is limited to the foreseeable, typical damage.
Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.
Which data is processed when you access the web versions is described in the privacy policy. No cookies are set and no personal tracking is used.
Code, graphics, algorithms and content of the web versions are protected by copyright. The theoretical foundations partly follow the finger-string system according to the systematics of Bernd Kiltz; a detailed list of sources can be found on the home page in the “Sources” section. The image, video and audio credits are in the legal notice.
The provider reserves the right to adjust these terms if changes to the web versions, the technology used or the legal framework make this necessary. The current version is always available at this URL.
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Vis-à-vis consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not restrict mandatory statutory provisions of the state in which the consumer has their habitual residence.
If you are not a consumer and have no ordinary place of jurisdiction in Germany, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes is the provider’s registered office in Sindelfingen, Germany.
